Fashion Ring with Inherited Diamonds
My client was looking to create a new ring using diamonds from her Grandma's wedding set. She wanted something that was minimalist and dainty, but didn't want it to be confused for a wedding ring. We decided to use a center stone from my collection of gem stones that I have gathered over time from different gem dealers and gem shows. After a few design ideas we decided to move forward with an Oval Indicolite Tourmaline set in a East/ West crown setting with her grandma's single cut diamonds in a shared prong band. Single cut diamonds have larger facets and catch the light a a bit differently than the diamonds most commonly used today. Their rarity makes them that much more beautiful and to combine the vintage diamonds in a modern style makes this ring a truly unique piece.
